Volunteer Opportunities

Guest Speakers

Guest speakers are one of the most vital components of CBV. Sharing their expertise with high school students, guest speakers have the opportunity to bring a new perspective into the minds of the students. They lead discussion with students during one-hour sessions, inspiring them to dig deeper and reach their full potential as leaders in business. Guest speakers representing a wide variety of career fields such as: law, finance, engineering, manufacturing, advertising, the environment, computer technology, politics, and more are welcome.

Company Advisors

Each Company Advisor is responsible for spending time with a small group of students who form a “company.” Their role is to help students organize and assemble information so they can make sound business decisions. The Company Advisors will not make decisions for their respective company, rather act as consultants and use questions to stimulate the student’s ability to answer their own questions. The Company Advisors will have ample time and opportunities to interact with students, creating teamwork and a sense of camaraderie that grows much stronger over the course of the camp.

You need not to have a particular background or area of expertise to be an effective Company Advisor. As long as you care about young people, you’ll be a tremendous asset to the program!

Presentation Judges

Each student run company is responsible for both a Stockholders & Advertising presentation. The role of the Presentation Judge is to become an objective 3rd party. Scoring for these segments will count towards a larger scoring and eventually the naming of overall “Top Company.”

We are seeking professionals willing to contribute one day to perform this important task and overall making the event a success.

Day-to-Day Assistant Volunteers

Over the course of CBV’s 4-day camp, there are various hands-on projects for which we need your help. Potential tasks for daily volunteers include: meeting guest speakers upon arrival, taking pictures of activities, running errands, assisting with student registration and checkout.

This position is great if you are new to the program and want to be involved, but may have a limited availability during the week of the camp.
