Who can apply for California Business Venture (CBV)?

High school students enrolled in 9th - 12th grades at the start of the current school year.

 

What type of student typically attends the CBV?

Any student motivated to learn more about business. We take pride in the idea that our students come from a diversity of backgrounds and interests.

What does it take for me to apply to the program?

Each student is required to submit a brief essay and reference from school that can comment on your behalf as an interested student. The student may then become an ambassador to represent their respective high school during the CBV camp.

 

What is the application fee for CBV?

The application fee for the CBV is $25. Please see the application or contact us for more information.

 

What is the total cost for the CBV?

The total cost for CBV is $500 per student.

 

What is included in the camp cost?

Each student’s program materials, meals, lodging at the University, and activities are covered in the cost of the camp.

 

Where do students stay while attending the CBV camp?

Students will stay overnight in campus dorms at the University Village. Each evening, The Advancement Academy’s Residential Coordinator and staff will perform dorm counts ensuring the appropriate students are in their dorms each evening.

 

Are there chaperones throughout the CBV camp?

Yes. Cal State San Marcos requires we maintain a 20-1 ratio at all times. Since the students are divided into teams or “companies” of 6-10 students, our ratio is generally better than 10 to 1.

 

If I can’t afford the registration/application fees, does The Advancement Academy offer any financial assistance?

Yes. Each year there are several students who are awarded financial assistance from sponsors, partners, or other contributors. Please contact us at WillAdAcad@gmail for more information.
